Capital Institute of Science and Technology Development Strategy(CISTDS) serves as an innovative think tank based in the capital and dedicated to national service. CISTDS was established in August 2011, initiated by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, with the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission serving as the secretariat. CISTDS was co-founded by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Beijing Normal University, and the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology.

CISTDS aims to highlight the functions of the national political center, cultural center, international exchange center, and scientific and technological innovation center of the capital, and to fully utilize and take advantage of the capital's scientific research, talents, industry, finance and other resources.

CISTDS focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship and green development, adheres to internationalization, regionalization, and quantification, conducts key research on forward-looking, critical, and urgent issues in the field, and provides strategy consulting, technical and financial services, and professional training for governments, enterprises and all sectors of society. Currently,?CISTDS has published more than 30 brand research results continuously; completed more than 200 special projects commissioned by the Ministry of Science and Technology, China Association for Science and Technology, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Beijing, Shenzhen and other governments; provided more than 100 strategic consulting services for well-known enterprises; established or managed industrial development funds in Jiangxi, Chengdu and other places.
